Tuesday, December 17

Trendy Tuesday everyone!!  Today is Red and White.

My interpretation is a bit of a nod to one of my style icons: Yasi at Hello Gorgeous.  She wore a similar outfit here.  I wish I could look as polished as she does every single day.

Today I felt pretty put-together though.  Even though the day was absolutely crazy and I was so super busy.  My brain was practically dead by the end after grading over 60 Scarlet Letter tests.  GAH!

Sweater: LOFT
Dress: Target
Necklace: eBay
Tights: Walmart
Belt: Target
Shoes: Payless

Also, this is second day hair.  I'd try for third day hair, but with how long my hair is now, I really need to wash it every couple of days and deep condition it to keep it from feeling brittle. I love that I can curl my hair and get away with the curls for 2-3 days!

Finals Week: YESSSSSS.  I can't wait for Christmas break!

I went into town to do some Christmas shopping and found the most awesome boot socks.  I can't wait to wear them so I can show you all :)

I got told that I looked like an Indian in this outfit.  I assumed the student meant Native American and said thank you--as long as I looked like the Disney version of Pocahontas! I secretly wish I were a Disney Princess.

Dress: Altar'd State
Cardigan: Charlotte Russe
Necklace: eBay
Tights: Target
Boots: Lane Bryant

Wednesday December 11 - Saturday December 14

We had an early release from school Friday due to freezing rain.  Then last night a bunch of snow fell, making everything look really pretty, but making the roads pretty dangerous.  I've stayed in all day; I didn't even go outside to shovel the snow.  That will have to be tomorrow.

This was technically an outfit from Tuesday night.  I went to a terrible Christmas concert.  It was so very bad; my friend and I laughed the whole time (and it wasn't supposed to be funny).

Navy Dress: Target
Necklace: eBay
Tights: Walmart
Booties: Kohl's

Wednesday

Pink Sweater: Forever21

I forgot to take a picture of my outfit Saturday.  Sorry about that!  It wasn't exciting: jeans and a gray marled sweater.  I only wore it for a few hours and then quickly put on sweats when it became obvious I wasn't leaving the house!

Tuesday, December 10

I am joining Danielle and her teacher friends for a little sartorial challenge on Tuesdays.  This week: flannel and scarves.

Here's my interpretation.  And yes, I had to wear my Spanx to make these pants look decent.

Black Top: Kohl's
Mint Jeans: Kohl's
Scarf: Bought on a street corner in NYC last year (both flannel AND a scarf)
Mint Necklace: LOFT
Brown Boots: Payless

Monday, December 9

It's been so bitterly cold outside!  At least some snow fell this weekend--just enough to dust the ground and make it look pretty and wintry outside :)

Mondays always seem to be hard for me.  I feel discombobulated and unorganized all day.  I have morning PLC, then hall duty, then hall sweeps, then planning, which is shorter on Mondays, and then I teach straight through with 16 minutes' break for lunch.  GAH!

Animal Top: Marshall's
Cardigan: Kohl's
Red Cords: Kohl's
Boot Cuffs: Etsy
Black Boots: Lane Bryant
Necklace: Francesca's

Tomorrow I will have two outfits: one for school and another for going to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra Tribute Concert.  Too bad it isn't the actual Trans-Siberian Orchestra.  But I'm stoked either way.

You'll notice my dog didn't follow me today.  He was too busy sleeping on the bed this morning :)

Tuesday, December 3-Saturday December 7

I've been very busy this last week.  Instead of posting daily, I decided to post the rest of my week's outfits all together.  Hope you don't mind!

This last week was filled with happy things:

1) I got my classroom back on my own and I'm excited to be teaching again!

2) I was given an award at the first home basketball game during Teacher Appreciation Night because one of my senior students (also a b-ball player) felt I was an inspiration to her.  Warm fuzzy feelings just thinking about it!

3) I got to meet up with friends Friday night for dinner and fun trivia :)  Yay for adult hang-out time.

Monday, December 2

I'm feeling crazy--I can't believe it's December already!  It doesn't help that the weather was 50 degrees yesterday and today is supposed to be more of the same….and then the weather man says that Thursday it will snow.

I really wanted to wear my new boots today.  I got two pairs at Lane Bryant.  That is the ONLY store (other than Payless) that carries a boot with a wide enough calf for me to be able to zip them up.  I went into Dillard's and tried on the wide-calf Naturalizers…yeah, definitely not WIDE ENOUGH.  I don't feel like I have freakishly large calves.  It's not like people look at me and think, Wow, she has big a big calf.  Although, if anyone paid attention to something like that, I would be a bit concerned!

Pink sweater: Kohl's
Blue Dot Skirt: Gap
Gray Tights (can't see them): WalMart
Brown Boots: Lane Bryant
Star Necklace: a gift many years ago from my grandmother

I got many compliments from students on my outfit today, which warms my little teacher heart.  One student even said that I am "always knockin' it out of the park" with my clothes.  So sweet.
